1760005140492.png This is typical, she will go out of the flap, but not return using it, the other two use it, it does see her chip, but still she returns to the window to come back in. It as if she is saying no tradesman entrance for me. She jumps onto the balcony, which I could not do, and sits on the chair looking through the window.

she will either learn quickly when you ignore her or perhaps lead her through it from outside with treats etc.. so she gets used to it. perhaps watch closely to see if theres something she doesnt like about going this particular way.

Yea tricky one, probably gotta be cruel to be kind, presumably you've 'shoved her through it' from that direction a few times? As she's happy exiting that way, the cat flap per se doesn't seem to be an issue so I'd hazard she'll use her favourite form of entry until you put an end to it.

The other two cats had their chips put in by the local vet, the cat who does not use the flap to re-enter the house had a chip put in by a vet some 60 miles away, so may not be in the same place. Tried holding her at the flap, and it does unlock, but there is a delay.

We had a visiting cat when getting cats use to the flap, who decided to sleep just inside the flap, so maybe there was some sort of fight which has stopped her using the flap, she will not let me put her through the flap.

All our cats have wanted to come in as soon as they have gone out or vice versa.

All of our cats would have preferred a human to open a door or window than use a cat flap.

But with our new pair, brothers we have had since 10 weeks, we have had them chipped, programmed the cat flap to them and made sure they can operate the flap. Then they are on their own. They can miaow as much as they like, we won't open any doors or windows.

They soon learn.

It took them a while to get used to using their noggins to push the flaps open, but they got there in the end.
