Motability Cars

Bloke over the roads got a nice 4x4 Nissan car on the mobility scheme, hes ever so ill cant work, doesn't have much trouble cleaning his gutters out up the top of a ladder mind....
How do you know it's on Motability?

Also it's entirely possible he's not playing the system but merely takes advantage of a 'good day' when he gets it. If you've never had a chronic health condition it's hard to understand how it can affect you.

He told me

Maybe, but this is just one example
It's always one example, but you don't know his health conditions. A huge fraction of disabilities are hidden.

Also, if you want to know the contribution, look it up.

If you look at the X-trail then your full PIP (£4k) would roughly cover it through another leasing system. The main advantage is probably insurance as disabled people can't always get affordable cover.

No but I know one of my sons mates uses the mobility car his mom got for him *not for her for him*

I also used to work with a chap whose wife was disabled and he used the car as a taxi on the weekends (I know you wouldnt think it allowed but it happened)

Theres another 2 examples...

Why are people so desperate to think people cant fake an illness or actual disabled people with no use for a car get the car for someone else?

Try having a chronic health condition and then try getting PIP. It'll change your life.

As for the rest, they could just lease a car using their PIP anyway and do the same. Motability isn't the issue.

I know someone who has never worked in his life through disability, he has an adapted house a car and there is nothing wrong with him.

You seem to think im against what im saying I'm not, fair play to them, live and let live I say.

Not bothered about those with a cronic illness, they deserve the help, it is the shirkers and the overweight that I am against.

Why are people missing the point. If you can afford a £115k car then you clearly do not need the benifit.
Keep the system but limit it to a certain value car. But with exceptions for cars that are needed for ramps etc to be fitted.

Which car is that you're thinking of? I had a look on Motability and couldn't find anything that expensive.
