Those are all MCB's, an RCB, or RCBO will have a button marked T or TEST. You need to have one of those, protecting your new socket, or at least use an rcd socket. I would suggest a metal-clad socket, and arranging some form of protection for those cables.

Single metalclad, seem not so easy to source.

Fix a pair of timber laths either side of your electrics, and it will protect them from damage.

Which confirms you do appear to have all your circuits, protected by RCD's - therefore, no need for an RCD socket. You just need to source a metalclad, 13amp single socket.

Picked a double up today from screwfix and some 2.5 t&e.

I've got some pvc pipe I'm going to use, shame I can't take the cable out from the left side of the current switch, it looks like it'll have to go through the top which makes the coupler abit awkward

Just had another look, your fcu doesnt have a knockout on the side (they usually do) you could drill a 20mm hole but watch you dont knock the 3.5mm pin clipp off.

I'll have a look if not I've some cable clips and I'll run it back down so only the top bit will be seen,then use the pipe

Just had another look, your fcu doesnt have a knockout on the side (they usually do) you could drill a 20mm hole but watch you dont knock the 3.5mm pin clipp off.

Or just replace it with one with a side K/O. Quicker, easier, and unless he already has a 20mm punch or fine-toothed hole saw or step drill, probably cheaper.

There's a few different ways to do it.
