Well we'll see what happens when we get a proper government. Something bold will happen and it's very unlikely the French and EU will like it. But that's how stuff gets actually achieved.

We need them 5x more than they need us
The UK is a weak tiddler compared to the EU

In the real world (go on, try it!), the UK pays the EU £93 billion more for imports from it than we get from exports to it.
In other words, they need us a lot more than we need them.
Besides, you should never give into the mob. The EU is essentially a mafia - upset us and we'll cause you harm. We should just do what's right, if they want to hurt themselves with a tantrum then go for it but never bow down to bullying.
Trump's essentially told the rest of the world where to go. Has the sky fallen down? No, people grumble then just carry on. Importing, exporting, paying the tariffs that are now making the US better.
We should do whatever solves the problem with illegal people smuggling invasions, and not assume the French or EU will retalliate in some other way just because we're scared.
