War Crimes...

Oh the poor little darlings, imagine them having to obey the Geneva convention. It must be awful for them. Let's just give them medals and pat them on the head for being brave little soldiers.

Geneva convention has never been an issue. It's article 2 of the ECHR (the right to life) that's causing the military problems.

Those poor little darlings as you refer to them are doing a job that they are being paid to do
Could you point out the bit in their employment contract where it says that murdering innocents and committing war crimes are acceptable?

And that a blind eye will be turned to such acts...

Because if such actions are 'without consequences', not only does it remove the humanity from our armed forces but it continues the circle of violence...

And since you are by default paying them, if you want to give them carte blanche then you are complicit in murder and war crimes!

They've been breaking both...

Or do you believe that it's ok to murder an innocent person but not ok to torture them?

If 'everybody' has a right to life under article 2 then we can't go to war, fine. That's great news for the bad guys.

Funny how you always equate those on the other side with being the 'bad guys'...

Plenty of atrocities have been committed by British forces over the years which in other eyes makes us the bad guys...

But you are of course deliberately conflating the issue of war itself and acts committed during a war...

And if you don't want a universal 'right to life', then you are obviously in the non deserving camp that you desire for those you consider 'untermensch'!

Some of us on the other hand believe that even supporters of genocide still should have human rights...

Because to think otherwise dooms us all !

Aren't you paying them too or does your job in the care home keep you under the tax threshold?
Oh look mottie decides to hijack another topic with it's erroneous pick from the troll handbook...

But since you believe i work in a care home, prove it...

Put up or shut up!

As for who pays for our armed forces, we all do...

Hence why we all have a stake in how they behave!

Well you work in a care home you should be more sympathetic in your outlook

Can anybody explain, rationally and intelligently, why working in a care home should be a stick to beat someone with when you don't like their views but cannot argue properly against them?

Nothing wrong with working in a care home. It is an admirable job and why I said he should be more sympathetic towards people by doing so.

How very noble :giggle:

I must have misinterpreted the vibe here:

Aren't you paying them too or does your job in the care home keep you under the tax threshold?

I should probably edit my post to make it clear what I was referring to...
