God forbid you get something that's not covered, and requires extended treatment, stays, aftercare, major operations.
Then I use the NHS, a service I've always paid for with my taxes but seldom used.
Who told you that if one has private insurance can't use the NHS???

If the doctor was NHS he would be paid by my insurance.
If the equipment was from the NHS, the insurance would pay a hire fee.

Those left wing countries like France, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Spain……all have far better health services
Clearly you haven't been there.
I have used healthcare in France and Spain (and Italy) and they are way worse than our NHS.
Maybe I've always been lucky, but apart from long wait at a&e and an ass of a physiotherapist, I always found the NHS very good.
