Can’t really warm to Norris. I’m jealous of his rich father bankrolling his career.

I like F1 but aero has made it precessional. I have hopes the rule changes for next year will be better.

BTCC or GT is much better racing.

Also, keep an eye out for the CSCC Modern Classics Series…where I will be participating for a few rounds

Apart from Hamilton and I think Ocon, they all had rich parents. Stroll's dad is the richest - any other driver getting the results he has been getting would have been dropped a long while ago but it’s daddies team so he has a job for life.

Yeah, it’s a long and well trodden path.
Even Senna was a ‘paid’ driver.

Perhaps these guys all become the best drivers because they get all the resources to practice and hone their trade (except Stroll of course ), but I can’t help but think we don’t actually get to see the best of the best racing.

When I did my race driving licence a couple of months back I was chatting to the dad of a 14 year old lad who was also doing his test. He’d come top of a Ginetta Juniors open invite test day…but couldn’t raise the quarter of a million in sponsorship needed to run a car for a season. Crazy money if you ask me.

One of my ex students that I’m still in touch with is in to his motorsport. He preps/transports cars and both his sons race them. One of them did quite well. He says it’s not cheap.

He's also into his off-road motorbiking and keeps a couple of bikes out in Spain. He's said on a few occasions that he will take me out there and take me around but after my experience a few weeks ago and seeing some of the videos he sends me, I won’t be taking him up on that offer!

They have F1 cars if various ages down at good wood for the festival of speed

It takes some thing like 6 people to actually start a modern day F1 car

Oil / water has to be pre heated as the engineering tolerances are that tight ( ?)

Not a fan of car / F1 racing tbh

Always prefer bikes
