So, bath waste was leaking so I tweaked it up a bit with a flathead screwdriver on the screw in the middle of the grate. Sealed it fine.

But this morning I noticed I've bent the plug grate into a a slight dome shape, so clearly overtightened.

It's hasn't split the bath or created a new leak.

So.... Leave it? Replace just the grate? Replace the lot?

Replace the lot, doesn't owe you anything as I'm sure it's been in there for a long time. The waste was probably overtightened to start with and now the seal has age hardened and it now needs even more pressure to seal it back up and that's resulted in the grate bending.

The screw had come completely loose, but that doesn't really alter your logic, thanks.
