If you shovel it out from the bottom, whatever is above will fall down.

Ventilation will evaporate damp, you don't need heat.

Do you think rain is getting into the chimney? Not much falls down the chimneypot, but sometimes there is a roof fault at the flashing making it damp.

I’ve got one bucket load out from lower vent in picture but think some bricks may be wedged half way up chimney. I’ve got access to chimney as it’s half dismantled in the loft and I can see bricks in it - it doesn’t go above the roof so no water from outside.

How as it’s wedged halfway up the dismantled chimney - I can see it as chimney is open in loft space just cannot reach it ?
