Revolting Iranians

I would love Iran to get rid of the Mullahs as long as there is a proper plan for something better.
So funny really. There was a democracy. But western nations didn't like it, because the nationalised their oil, taking control away from Britain and America. Fearing economic loss and the potential spread of Soviet influence, the UK's MI6 and the US CIA orchestrated Operation Ajax. The coup successfully toppled Mossadegh and consolidated power in the hands of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. This effectively ended Iran's first major democratic experiment and replaced it with an absolute monarchy supported by the West. Of course, Operation Ajax didn't have the outcome that the west hoped for - the current regime is actually the long-term 'blowback' from that intervention.

Very similar to what we've seen recently in Venezuela.

American and the UK say they want democracy, but what they really want is to control the production of oil.

What is very telling from history ... declassified records show the CIA spent roughly $1 million (a massive sum in 1953) to:
  • Bribe Iranian newspapers to print anti-Mossadegh propaganda.
  • Hire "protesters" to stage riots to make it look like the country was falling apart.
  • Pay off religious leaders to speak out against the democratic government.

I wonder, who is behind the riots today? What embolded them to take to the streets?

The Iranian people, been documented for some time. Seems you don't believe in citizens having a say in how their country is run.

Fair enough, takes all sorts.

WOW. You're a man who hasn't got a clue.

You're ignorance is impressive.

Although Venezuela has the largest Oil Reserve in the World, the Oil in Venezuela is termed as Heavy Crude Oil because it is difficult to refine it and it's production has been decreasing since 2000, with exports going mainly to Russia and China. So the Oil isn't as important as you seem to think. As to what emboldened the Iranian people to take to the streets, it's living under Sharia Law that makes that happen. People disappearing in the night never to be seen again, public executions, floggings and beatings, no rights for women, the people remember when they had freedom as Persians and want that back.

yes, I know that. But the timing. Why now? These things have been going on for decades.

5 years of drought with no money being spent on the water infrastructure, all available money is being spent on the pursuit of nuclear weapons, the destruction of Israel and paying for mass rallies in London to turn opinion against Israe;.
The value of the Riall in freefall and 50% inflation.

Plus, money to Iran has been turned on and off at will over the years. When Iran started producing weapons grade plutonium, they were hit by the West with sanctions which restricted their oil wealth, for reasons nobody has ever really explained, the EU and Obama stopped the sanctions on the condition Iran would halt production of nuclear weapons for 5 years, Trump during his first term realised it was an atrocious deal, even Macron admitted it, so he reimposed sanctions, as did, eventually, the EU. When Biden got in he stopped the sanctions again which freed up hundreds of billions of oil money to Iran, enough for them to finance the Houthis, Hezbollah and Hamas, effectively Biden paid for the October 7th attacks.

Thankfully, Trump has since got back in and reimposed sanctions, Iran broke cover and rather than hiding behind proxys made a direct attack on Israel. Israel struck back, big time.

The people of Iran realise now, more than ever, they have a far better future if their oil wealth isn't spent on promoting terror not just on Israel but throughout the world.

Who do you think is paying for all the banners and placards at the pro Palestinian marches across London and the USA, who do you think is planting terror cells in European cities.

It's the Iranians, and useful idiots like you are allowing it to happen, you're promoting it and cheering it on.
