While tidying up papers, we found the invoice for a couple of nights for a brief stay after our wedding.

Two nights in a bridal suite with a huge spa bath, breakfast and dinner...£300.

In 1994 I took my g/f to Ibiza in a 4 star hotel Dinner, B&B for that.

I stayed at a hotel outside Halifax which featured on Last Tango, in the foyer was a photo of The Beatles leaning on a Ford Zodiac, they had stayed to celebrate John Lennons birthday in the early 60s ( probably a few associates too) the bill was £42. Reckon tradesman rate would be about £8 - £10 per week going by what my peers told me
