I wouldn't be surprised if he has been banned from his postings. He is still a loss as I actually quite liked him, sometimes he had a sense of humour but very hardcore politically.

I don't think he has left at all. He could have realised that being on here 24/7 is a waste of life and found a hobby or doing something else. I have cut my time right down on here and spend the time I would have normally spent learning to speak Russian and playing my guitar more. I maintain enough time on here to remain No1 but it can take up too much of your time and is pretty addictive to be on here. It's like people who are addicted to on line gambling.

Yes, there is a compulsion in some posters to reply to everything and to have the last word. Notch simply posted too much, it must have took up a lot of his time. Excessive posting doesn't work, because the more you post, the less people read - just because you wasted your life writing it doesn't mean others have to waste theirs reading it. Notch should come back and be more reticent. John D is a lot better since he cut down; he used to be fifty posts to everyone else's one.
