Great. So when do we get all those low bills from all this free energy?
How do you know they're not already lower than they would have been without the windmills?
Errr, could the clue be that we are eco-pioneers AND have the highest energy prices in the world?
We're likely to serve as a lesson to the rest of the world in what NOT to do, rather than lead by example.
See that stupid little island off the coast of Europe that's gone bankrupt and has no industry left? That's what happens when you worship at the altar of Net Zero, stay well away from that.
We've just exported our emissions. We import everything from China, made in factories powered by coal-fired power stations then add additional pollution by burning a load of oil to bring the stuff here on ships.

Why are we still so reliant on gas?
Given the above, why do we have next to sod-all gas storage (making us very vulnerable to market fluctuations, and having to buy when it is expensive)?
Around 2045 according to a Prof from Oxford Uni, says Government has tied us into 20 year deal that in reality means no discernable decrease until then, if then!
Says it's disingenuous of Government to suggest bills will drop any time soon.
And let's not forget if the UK was wiped from earth tomorrow, global emissions would drop by ... around 1%.
All 100% government controlled. They created a rigged cartel and allow it to continue and get worse.
Wholesale gas prices are very low at the moment. The Ukraine effect vanished years ago, but you wouldn't tell from our prices...
We're all being conned. The high prices are a combination of eco policies and the rigged cartel that runs the system, aided and supported by this and previous governments.

You mean wholesale privatisation coupled with no effective regulation?
No, it's what happens when you let private companies run the generation and distribution businesses with a completely free rein over pricing, profits, investment (or lack of), executive bonuses and shareholder dividends.
End the privatisation madness.

Just why are they being run at profit margins way in excess of what's the norm for private profit-making companies?
Just why did National Grid pay out billions of pounds in dividends, and how did they fund it when they paid at higher rates than earnings per share?
Just why is about a quarter of people's bills being taken as profit?
Just why is investment about half what it was pre-privatisation?

Just why do some people want to pretend that it's all the fault of "Net Zero"?
Almost everyone agrees with you, myself included.
Sadly the establishment don't. Companies are making vast profits from the population, and politicians of both parties keep enabling it.
They don't need to buy anyone out, they could regulate the industry into bankruptcy, then pick up the pieces. They're not playing fair so there's no reason why we should. But it won't happen.
Net Zero makes use of the rigged system. It has enabled eco generators to get paid the same amount as gas power costs, so it makes wind and solar ridiculously profitable, all this profit comes from our higher bills.
Net Zero in conjunction with our rigged system is why we're paying so much. Both are factors, both are interdependent.
The reason we have so many windfarms isn't because of our brilliant policies, it's because we're all paying excessive amounts every month by direct debit to hand vast amounts to the people who own them, including King Charles who owns the land they're all built on.
