What have you been doing today?

Found an in-date covid test in the cupboard. Showed up negative. A couple of hours ago she had the most terrible pain in her ribs and prevented her from taking large breaths to enable her to have a good cough. So bad it made her cry and she's the sort that will suffer pain quietly. Lasted an hour or so before subsiding enough for her to put up with it after some paracetemol. Going to have to see the doc if she’s not better in the morning.

Sounds like she's strained something with all the coughing, not sure what the Docs can do for that. Maybe an inhaler?

Anyway, for what it's worth, tell her that a bunch of anonymous avatars on a diy forum whom she's never met wish her well and hope for a speedy recovery.

One for the stethoscope by the sounds of it. Don’t delay.

She had a telephone consult with the doctor this morning and I’ve picked up some antibiotics for her. Still in bed now and apart from half a bowl of soup and two gluten free crackers, that’s all she’s eaten since Saturday night. Just doesn’t have any appetite. I might go out later and buy some Jewish penicillin to see if that will tempt her. I’ve never seen her this ill, ever. I suggested taking her to A&E but she's adamant she’s not going to hospital. At least the pain in her ribs has gone and she’s drinking plenty of water. Fingers crossed that the antibiotics start to kick in sooner rather than later.

The antibiotics will help, they put mrs filly on those on account of her being asthmatic.

I used to think I was good in bed until I found out she had asthma.

It ain't easy to override the better half, but sometimes it has to be done...

It should be A&E...

Enduring a couple of weeks of 'I told you so' is far better than a lifetime of 'what ifs'!

It's a virus, a coughing virus is what we were told, there's other cold symptoms, nothing drastic but when the cough kicks in, it's absolutely unrelenting and a coughing fit can last hours which of course can cause all sorts of other problems.

My Mrs has just had a chest infection, the coughing fits were terrible. The Doctor gave her antibiotics and just over a week later she’s almost back to normal.
