Reform have peaked and tactical voting on a scale never seen before will keep them out of power. The sensible and moderate people of Britain will come together to defeat them. That doesn't mean it's business as before. There are legitimate concerns to be addressed.

There is an interesting article in the Telegraph by David Frost which flags up something I wasn't aware of. Apparently, any Commonwealth citizen who is in the UK legally can vote.

A major concern seems to be 'family voting' which was flagged up by observers last night.
It's been a problem for many years in the Pakistani community, where for example a Pakistani would follow his wife into the polling booth, usual excuse would be she needed him to translate but regardless it's strictly against polling station rules.
When my wife worked at Slough Borough council she took part in 3 or 4 counts and received a fair bit of abuse for trying to enforce the rules, on one occasion she had to call the police who arrived within minutes as TVP had a large number of officers on standby near polling stations.

It's true, my wife has experienced it first hand while working in a polling station and one 'customer' threatened violence towards her so she called the police. She didn't get involved in counts after that.

How much of a difference does it make?, I suspect not very much, maybe a few hundred votes?
I've already told my wife who to vote for in the next election, illegal?, probably.

It's the location not the intent that is the illegal part.

But a few hundred votes in a hotly contested seat could make a difference...

One wonders whether there will be a move to have law enforcement at polling stations?

After all they brought in ID measures for a 'crime' that in reality didn't really exist to any extent, so who knows.

We will be and I’ll annoy Mrs Mottie as I usually do. We walk the dog up to the polling station. Because we can’t take the dog in, we take it in turn. When Mrs Mottie goes in, I say something like "Remember what I told you…." and then tell her who to vote for. That never fails to get me some dirty looks from passers by, especially women.

I reckon greens will take it. It has been a Labour seat for decades. Though it’s quite possible that reform will be under represented in the polls. Parties on the right tend to have shy voters which skew the polls.
