Richard Tice and Isobel Oakshott move to Dubai

A UK person with an income from his UK business of millions of pounds a year would be paying quite a lot of income tax, if he did not declare himself to be resident in Monaco.

I'm surprised you didn't know that,

Oddly, the chicken biker seems to think that rich people shouldn't pay income tax.

I think they should.

JohnD resurrected the thread to have a gloat that someone he thought had moved permanently to Dubai was in a spot of bother. Little things please little minds and all that…

Is that what it was.

The thread was definitely there on p1 of the forum, I clicked on it, started reading and replying. It took me a while to spot that the dates on the posts I was replying to were end of Jan 2025, not 2026.

At which point I thought "Duurrrrr..." and skipped to the end to see what the more recent ones were.

Which was when I saw that the most recent before mine, #149, was also from 2025, so I'm like WTF? The topic should have been down in the weeds around p60 of the forum being so old, so how did it end up on p1?

Now I know.

Presumably the resurrection post got deleted not long after I started reading.

They shouldn't be fellow citizens. They should be citizens of Dubai.
I’ve never understood the serves you right British/tabloid attitude to Brits abroad in danger. Remember the couple who taken by Somali pirates a few years back. They were sailing hundreds of miles off the coast but blamed for their own misfortune. The same with hostages. Other countries negotiate, we say, you’re on your own.

In the case of migrants who don't want to pay tax, they declare that they have ended their life as British residents, and the costs of running the country and providing public services are nothing to do with them.

We all know of people who resign from the golf club because they don't want to pay the subscription and follow the club rules, who later complain that they no longer qualify for the benefits of membership,

No, we don’t. If you decide the subscription fee is not worth the supposed benefits and you don’t like the rules, you leave. And then shut up about it. Meanwhile, those that left but wish they were still members make it their sole aim in life to just keep droning on and on and on about it. They should just shut up, feck off and move in with someone that is a member.

AIRPORT arrival halls across the world are experiencing major delays due to a surge in influencers returning home from Dubai.

Clogging up terminals with cameras, lighting rigs and ring lights, travellers have been warned to add at least two hours to their journey as they attempt to navigate a maze of fake-tanned, turkey-teethed twenty-somethings.

“First step on Irish soil,” repeated one bleached blonde woman as she tried to get the right shot with her boyfriend-for-now, while exhausted passengers carefully attempted to pass without knocking over one of the thirty circular lights scattered across the arrivals hall.

Ressurection post is still there. #150

Ah - OK - sorry - I hadn't spotted that there had to be one more post on that page

Except they were, and the post Brexit shítshambles and dent to the economy (even though it was a soft Brexit) prove they were. Just as the public now realise it was a catastrophook, foisted upon us by misguided miserly old gammons.
