Pete done it, here is a photo of him doing it.

He started a post with a reasonably unbiased question, why not return the courtesy rather than start down the abuse road?
I believe you'll find the abuse is in the statement supporting capital and corporal punishment...

And hardly an unbiased view

For cases of serious offences where the alternative is to give either a life or double life sentence, having the burden of looking after them for the rest of their lives, taking up valuable prison space and the end result amounts to them dying in prison regardless is hardly a draconian view point.

What random beatings.? Never mentioned random beatings
You did say you supported beatings.
I am all for capital and corporal punishment, I think the punishment should fit the crime, ...Violent offences such as agravated burglary and theft of cars etc, should be met with lashes of substansial proportions to inflict not just pain but to mark the offender.
Theft of cars is not an aggravated offence.

100% for the likes of the scum who killed the little girls at a dance class, crossbow murderer and the murderer of Lee Rigby etc where guilt is beyond doubt, for the rest as Highwayman says Hard labour with no frills in jail

As an example, if two people are arrested for fighting in a pub and both fighters were willing to fight it out then I would say that this is acceptable and appropriate behavior, but if some lunatic walks into a pub and indiscriminately violently attacks innocent people or is bullying someone who doesnt want to fight then he must receive the lashes and a fine.

Onerous sentences does not reduce crime.

beatings? I said lashes. Also have you not heard of car jacking and aggravated theft before?
You said car theft, not car jacking nor aggravated theft.
What is the difference between lashes and beating?

lash = strike or beat with a whip or stick.
Beat = strike (a person or an animal) repeatedly

You sadi car theft, not car jacking nor aggravated theft.

I see you are out just being irritating and destroying a perfectly reasonable thread where sensible posters can give their opinions to this topic. Maybe some thoughts on the subject I and other intellectual posters have not given consideration to rather than just insults.
