What have you been doing today?

Spent the morning chasing a kitchen fitter who was supposed to start Monday. No show, no call. Finally got hold of him at lunchtime and he's double booked himself. Back to square one finding someone for next week. Joys of running a small firm.

Went to the care home with Mrs Mottie to visit her mum. She has dementia and it’s quite sad to see the shell of a woman that she has turned into. Only good thing, if you can call it that, is that she is safe, not in any pain, well looked after and happy there.

Came home and started scraping the drippy artex snots off of our back bedroom ceiling in preparation for skimming on Monday. My bloody arms feel like they are on fire now. When that’s done, I've got to paint and decorate it then new carpet is going to be fitted to that room, the stairs and landing. Then I've got to move all the furniture back into it along with the furniture from the main bedroom, decorate that and have carpet fitted to that and the other spare bedroom. Then I can have a break!

Off out tonight to see some am-dram production. No idea what it is, Mrs Mottie booked it. It’s either going to be very good or very bad. I’m guessing bad! :ROFLMAO:

30km mountain biking in nice sunny scenary and very few people around.
Came back muddy and sweaty, boss hosed me down in the garden (bloody cold).
Shower.
Then the boss decided she needed a long walk in the woods and of course I was the chosen one to accompany her (there was nobody else after all).
Seen rabbits and a roe buck.
That's enough excitement for today.
Home to home made pizza and a few beers.

Russian classes coming on slowly but surely, This morning I shocked Lena by saying in Russian "Good morning Lena its a beautiful day" now this may not seem a lot but this is the first time I have spoken in Russian to Lena, she broke down and cried, then I broke down crying,, we told the postman and he broke down crying too, it was amazing.

Interesting story....one thing I don't get, is the postman Russian?

Sorting out another legal mess for one of my family. I honestly despair at some solicitors. This one was the senior conveyancing partner and they'd made a massive Horlicks with some unregistered land. I've only recently finished explaining what I thought was some quite basic estate stuff to the Head of Private Client who was working for another family member. That went on for weeks because they just couldn't get their head round it.

Nobody cares. Leave it to the pros to sort out.
