Does anyone know exactly which law makes it illegal?
I can't speak for others, but I, for one, do understand - and, indeed, I did hear (a very long time ago) of someone doing the same!I didn't understand that, am I the only one who didn't?
If that;'s true, then it would appreciably undermine the argument I've been presenting, since a DNO would be far more likely to 'win' in a Civil court than in a Criminal one. Most likely a breach of contract rather than any law.
So you can't be prosecuted and little chance is there of being sued. What is everyone worrying about. It was done all the time years ago and still disconnected today on some of the old cutouts without damaging the sealMost likely a breach of contract rather than any law.
I think you'll find that the contracts (which we are all deemed to have seen {by using their electricity}, even though most haven't!) cross-refer to DNO regulations, not to mention ESQCR (which is 'law').Breach of what contract? The consumer's contract is with their supplier, not the DNO.

Quite so. I personally am not worrying at all, and I would feel the same even if criminal prosecution was a theoretical possibility. So you can't be prosecuted and little chance is there of being sued. What is everyone worrying about.
What seems to get overlooked (or, at least, not often discussed) is that anyone pulling a DNO fuse is going to be doing so in the name of safety (primarily their own safety)
The fact that one regards something as daft does not in any way prevent one from uynderstanding what has been described.I didn't understand, because I simply didn't believe anyone would be so daft as to do that.
The sentence of mine you quoted remains equally true regardless of whether one is talking about emergencies or 'planned work'.In the case of an emergency, then I would agree, but that doesn't hold water at all, in the case of planned works.

Harry I have met some daft people. Even daft Electricians. Plus plenty of daft "Electricians" and I would be really surprised if you haven`t (that does not mean I do not believe you but I suspect if you think back you might remember a few.I didn't understand, because I simply didn't believe anyone would be so daft as to do that.
Goodness, have you got nothing better to do with your time this afternoon? Not really, one provides a perfectly valid excuse for pulling the fuse, the other not,
