What have you been doing today?

Yet another hospital appointment. Sprung on me this time, at short notice, just a phone call, where they said they would text the details of what and where - except, they never did, just the day, and time. Ended up with a panic this morning, wondering which hospital, and where in the hospital. Yet another ECG, but not sure why at the time. Then told I would be seeing a heart consultant, with the ECG printout.

The consultant, asked me if I knew why the ECG had been requested, I suggested either for the forth coming OP, or to try to diagnose the episodes I have been suffering. He said it was the latter reason, and absolutely nothing had shown up in any of the ECG's, or during the 24-hour monitoring record - I didn't suffer an episode at all, during that 24 hour period. He now wants to try a 72-hour monitor. What he did say, was my heart appeared to be as strong as an ox, but there might be some sort of glitch happening, which has yet to be spotted.

Yep, I am still suffering the elusive episodes. It seems if I do anything to try to alleviate them, they stop for a while, then come back.

Today I have picked up my new toy. A Jaguar XJ8, 4,2ltr V8 with 67000 mls on the clock & a full Jaguar dealer service history, She's 26yr old but basically flawless & as good as the day she was born. Absolute bargain at £2700 . . . because basically nobody wants them & they have not yet etered the world of 'classic cars'.

Remarkable price, but you have to anticipate some repair bills.

Bought from an online auction run every month by the auction house behind Bangers & Cash.

Each month they auction over 800 classic cars & automobilia & it's well worth checking out & getting a feel for just how cheap some amazing cars from our youth are fetching.

96 seconds to get through departure gates at Malaga. I don’t ever remember any airport having anywhere near as many men in booths checking passports as there are machines in there now, does anybody? Terrible, the way they treat us non-eu travellers…..

And about 6 seconds to go through Gatwick. I don’t remember giving my fingerprints etc but I just go straight through and don’t get my passport stamped when entering or leaving Spain.
You don't remember a lot do you...

Like when you didn't have to think about such things...

And again you exaggerate - 6 seconds?

Is that just another figment of your aged imagination or something else not to be taken literally?

Maybe a little exaggeration. 15 seconds then. Walked straight up to the gate, put my passport on the reader and after scanning my mush, the gates opened.

No passport needed to be stamped when entering or leaving Spain any more - just like when you didn’t have to think about such things…..

Talking of remember earring things, I remember shuffling along in a queue and having a bloke manually checking my passport, looking at my face and checking something on a screen. That took longer than it did today. I also remember when you said you were leaving this country and this forum for good back in 2019. You quite obviously didn’t. What happened there?

Back home after our cruise. I’d definitely recommend Marella cruises if anyone is thinking of going on one. Staff are great, food is great, entertainment is first class. Chicken nuggets and chips tonight though instead of fine dining.

Popped over the allotment quickly to check on my crops. My sister and Bro in law had been watering them for me but they went on holiday on Wednesday so I was lucky just catch my young plants in the greenhouse from dying. I told her to help herself to any asparagus that sprouted. She obviously didn’t as I came home to these monsters:

Too much for me to get though so gave them away to neighbours.

Yet another Drs appointment, another blood test, thats one a week past 4 weeks, Not touched a drop of alcohol in 5 weeks now. I dearly miss my Friday lunch time getting off my face with my mates. They all miss me too and have been nagging me to come back. I consider my life more valuable than a friday blow out though. Sad but that's life I suppose.

Moving the caravan further back, to enable the little trailer to be brought to the fore, from it hiding place, under the summerhouse lean-to. Av,, suggested their were six pallets going begging, where she works, and wanted them collected. She has vaguely in mind, to turn them into more planters. When she finished work, it was a quick dinner, then back to load up the pallets, on the trailer.

Anyone ever tried reversing a little trailer 50 yards? The smaller they are, the more difficult, the quicker they go out of line. Made even worse by not being able to see what the trailer in doing in your mirrors, until they have gone way out of line. The caravan is much easier, and an artic even easier than that!
