I’m looking at various options to replace my Ring doorbell and perhaps make use of my existing Hikvision CCTV DVR.

My DVR is a IDS-7204HUHI-M1/FA/A with 4 TVI ColorVu cameras connected, my understanding is that you can add a further 2 ip cameras.

I was wondering if I could use a Hikvision DS-KB8113-IME1 2MP HD Vandal Resistant Video Doorbell Connected via a Hikvision Switch and get alerts through my Hik-Connect account as well as recording 24/7 via the doorbell camera.

I think it’s possible with this particular doorbell to connect to an external chime via the N/C N/O alarm connections.

Does anyone see any problems with this setup.

Thanks in advance.

Did you ever get this working?
I want to replace my eufy doorbell with a Hikvision DS-KV6113-WPE1(C) and integrate this into my NVR DS-7608NI-I2/8P.
I wanted the doorbell to constantly record to the NVR and create alerts & 2-way audio video via the Hik Connect app when someone rings the doorbell.

I’m confused as to if I can connect it straight to the NVR or if I need a PoE switch and connect it to my home network and then add it in the NVR software.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I’m up and running with my Hikvision iDS-7204HUHI-M1/FA/A DVR and Hikvision DS-KV6113-WPE1(C).

I connected the video doorbell with Cat6 lead to a POE Switch (My understanding is you would need to do this with a NVR as well and not plugged directly into the machine).

I also used the supplied plug with numerous leads to connect to a chime (Byron 776) using the N/O and Common wires, so as well as getting motion detection alerts and bell push notifications via Hik-Connect we get an internal chime as well when the bell is pushed.

So as well as working as a video doorbell it also records 24/7 (effectively as an extra camera)

NB. Not all chimes will work with the DS-KV6113-WPE1(C) and it’s only this model (C) that you can change the settings to output to a mechanical chime.

There are some issues with the door bell / dvr/ nvr set up …
We have a 7316 HUHI dvr at work it causes the machine to keep re booting
I have a 7308 HTHI dvr at home the door bell keeps this machine to start rebooting ,I also have an NVR ( hikvision ) down in the workshop sat on the network …this works fine
The HTHI ( 8MP ) dvr is a few years old and it’s on the lastest firmware
It may be just a firmware issue ?

Before I finally installed it, I had it setup in the loft (that’s where my DVR is located) for several months and monitored it via Hik-Connect, IVMS-4200 and SADP, no problems at all.

Recorded 24/7, detected movement whenever I went up there, no reboot of DVR so I removed my Ring Doorbell and installed the DS-KV6113-WPW1(C) in its place appropriately 2 months ago and all good.

As I said above, I connected the N/O and Common wires to a Byron 776 internal chime that also works well, overall, happy with how it’s all working

Thanks for the replies guys, really appreciated. I like the appearance of the DS-KV6113-WPE1(C) unit so will likely go for this. Surprised i cant plug it straight into the NVR as mine supports PoE and works great for the 6x cameras i have connected to it.
What model of switch did you use to power the doorbell?

It would be good if i could hook it up to Alexa for the ring element but get this is not possible..

I used a Netgear GS305P switch, it needs to be a POE model, I’m pretty certain that the DS-KV6113-WPE1(C) needs to be connected to a NVR via a POE switch, but by all means check it out.

The DS-KV6113-WPE1(C) has a 2mp camera, there is a new model out with a 4mp camera

There’s been a few issues with how you add the doorbell to record the video 247.

You would think it be possible.
Not 100% sure why it’s not possible, I would guess you might be able to cheat the system for the NVR to provide the power and plug into a non POE switch. For the network, effectively using the NVR as an injector, but a bit of a faff.

Power uses certain cores, so splitting is possible. This is documented think it’s white and brown for power off top of my head but can’t be certain.
