What have you been doing today?

Hmm...

This isn't jumping out at me as immaculate tbh. Looks more of a fixer upper to me.

Say, have you taxed, tested, insured or registered that Harley you said you bought the other week yet? Computer still says no……

Harley.

A machine for turning gasoline into noise without the side effect of horsepower.

Good man. Quite why so many people miss the deadline is beyond me.

HMRC should increase the fine to £1000
Don't you get until the end of Jan 2027.
And what about this new thing that you have to tell them every 3 months. But then none of that matters as it's only the final year one that counts so what is the point of the other 3

Tax.
I've been going back. My wife was financially qualified so she used to do it, but she got it wrong, I found as soon as I looked at it.
It's 6 months since she died, but I'm still not up to date with moving accounts about.

Once again, I found HMRC surprisingly helpful.
I thought I'd ring them to say look, I know this is wrong and I'll owe you interest and the fine, so can I pay a few quid now on account?
No need they said, because they had a discontinuous record. In this case that's a euphemism for telling me I was dead, when she died.

The surprising bit though was that when I said there was a lot to do, they gave me a list of all the accounts they knew about which had paid me interest. Account numbers and interest. There were 13 of the bloody things! I had no recollection there were that many. I phoned a couple of places to check the biggest, and they were right. Saved me hours and loads of angst, I can just put in the figures they gave me.

(Oddly, they are NOT routinely informed of capital gains and dividends - you have to tell them.)
So when I get round to doing 2025-6 tax, I'll phone and ask them what they have.

You assume I bought it to ride it, you silly fool. It is the main feature in my man cave.

Sounds good. Any pictures of the man cave - I’d love to see it taking pride of place. A photo of that luxury 6 berth camper you bought recently would be nice too.

Just a tip regarding ownership of the Harley - get on to the previous owner or dealer as they seem to have failed to notify the DVLA of the change of ownership - records still showing last change of owner was in March 2023. Perhaps they are happy to leave it in their name while you own it?

Had an MRI on the old prostate today - I asked for it as I hadn’t had one for over 4 years and I’m on active surveillance. I find them so relaxing, I could easily drop off to sleep in there. Only problem was the cannula they stuck in me to inject the dye fooking hurt me! He said it was because he'd probably 'hit tissue' so he took that one out and stabbed me in the other arm.

I've been telling banks they're incompetent.
I'm going to use a different broker. The cash went from First Direct. As it was a new "connection" I'd sent £100 first, as I've been caught before.
It arrived next morning. Fine.

Then I sent a lump. I had to call them rather than using the on-screen thing, but was able to say yes, please use the same details as before.
Two days later it's not there, so I called.

Between them, they've lost it.
95% First Direct's fault.
"But you gave us the details" they said.
"Yes I did", I said. "Which you already had".
The loss of interest in the delay if it bounces, is about a grand.
