Bank Holiday caravan site building again?

Out and about today I passed through many towns and villages in Surrey, on my way to my daughter's house. There may be another illegal site build about to happen, as there were convoys of big caravans, mostly towed by brand new pick ups and 4x4s, as well as about a dozen dodgy looking vehicles, all on trade plates and a fair bit of plant. I wonder if the councils are ready in case this is as I think?

There was encampment near a pub I frequent, it was there 18 months. If it’s Surrey, I would think there enough Mr Angry’s to persuade the Council to act quickly.

The area I'm on about is where they got away with it last bank holiday, or the one before. One village, Alfold is where they set up, lots of land being bought and built on. They are building a load of ghastly Midwich style properties in Alfold, I doubt any would be affordable, even if they class them as that. Councils should put a block on builders buying up, and banking land in the chance of houses being granted planning permission. Apparently there is a planning application for another 600 odd houses in Alfold. I reckon the caravaners made offers (that couldn't be refused) to someone holding parcels of land, and then just going ahead and do as they like (ee)

Do as you likeys buy agricultural land and then turn it into static housing estates. Takes the council years to get it sorted.

Yes when they get on the field by me the shops have to lock the doors as the little shìts keep pinching stuff, lovely people they also leave the field full of crap, really warms the cockles of your heart doesn't it....

In Harlow we welcome diversity. Back in 2015
we had a meeting with the new arrivals and exchanged gifts.
We gave them gym memberships and they gave us litter pickers.

They bring much needed craftsmanship and filled positions at our local hospital as doctors and surgeons.

Its a relationship that works. We are all the more healthy for it. The litter picking gives us Harlowites, much needed exercise and the travelers support us with applause and cheers.

You need to be a bit more understanding of our fellow human beings.
