House price gravy train may have hit the buffers

We're a funny lot as human beings. Folk moaning about stuff like property going up in value, folk benefitting from inherited property etc, however I suspect if many (most?) of these moaners found themselves in the same position, they'd be quite happy, no?

I sometimes use the analogy of someone moaning about the money top premier league footballers earn. Fast forward 15 years, their son has become a top player earning hundreds of thousands per week. Does the moaner say to their son 'you'll need to give away 95% of your weekly salary to good causes, or I'll disown you!' Or do they conveniently forget what they were moaning about 15 years previous ;)

It often just comes down to jealousy.

Many of the younger generation expect to be able to do all that and more, own a property, a nice car, all from their early 20s. Then, when they realise they can't have it all from day one, it's the fault of government, society etc.

Many of the Right-wingers expect to be able to do all that and more, own a property, a nice car. Then, when they realise they can't have it all from day one, it's the fault of immigrants etc.

I’ll leave my evidence for others to decide. You have started that rinse and repeat method you resort to when stumped so no matter what evidence is shown to you, you’ll just keep repeating your post.
You've seen the headlines and based your comment on that alone.
If you read on, you'll find that the pensioners referred to are constantly qualified by "Pensioners on a low income", "Over half (54%) of pensioners on a low income", "based on polling of pensioners who are on a low income", etc.
Of course there are pensioners on low incomes, but Noseall was talking more generally.
The exceptions quoted in that article does not change the general situation that Noseall was referring to.
You often tell us affluent you are in your retirement.

You can’t get "more general" than over a half, can you?
