Funny I bought a pair of decent quality trail runners
I use them for walking and the mileage i got from them compared to the cheapo runners i usually buy is unreal

I’m hoping they are pretty decent. They are replacing a pair of Meindls that I’ve had 4 or 5 years. I only bought those as they were a wider fit. They are £180 nowdays. These were £110 and come in a wide fit so not exactly cheap but not OTT either. They have a returns policy so I’ll try them in indoors before I use them outside. If they pinch, they’re going back and I’ll have to get another pair of Meindls.
Haven't had much chance this week with all the weather an' all but initial impressions are good. Firm, not squashy, like butternut. You stick 'em gel-side down and they adhere to the bottom of your boot like a whelk, while the top of the pad is smooth for your feet to slide in. A bit of a faff if you need to trim to fit but well worth the cost.
