Hisensne WD3 Washing machine drum not turning.

Btw.
I’m around there now and have just tried to hand turn the drum and it’s not freely turning (it’s jittering with a little force).

I definitely placed the belt on correctly.

Possible fix for this?

Does it turn freely with the belt off. If it does then perhaps the motor has seized although that woul be an unusual thing to happen. Did you check it spun freely when you were looking for brushes

Another possibility is that the bearings on the drum have seized. From what I have read elsewhere, on many machines they are no longer serviceable- that said, they shouldn't fail that quickly.

Ahh I didn’t check with the belt off whether is spun freely tbh.

I’ll check that next time around (they’re bringing any washing round to mine atm, ironically exactly the same machine!).

If the motor or bearings have gone and it’s not serviceable what’s the solution - new machine?

You can try to argue that it should have lasted up to 6 years.

Unfortunately, you will have to threaten to take the seller to the small claims court rather than the manufacturer. Your contract is with the seller and not the manufacturer. That said, the retailer might push the manufacturer to resolve things. Would you want to sell a product that results in grief from customers?

Appropos the five year thing, a judge will take the age of the device into account and say that it was only worth x after x amounts of years

Motor bearings should be available an fairly easy to replace . Drum bearings may be more difficult but you should be able to get equivalents. If you have to split the drum then personally I would not bother although it has beeb done and there are threads talking about it fairly recently. not sure if replacing the drum assembly is economically viable you would need to price up parts
