® Did you know?

Bananas are radioactive. They contain high levels of potassium, and because a small fraction of naturally occurring potassium is radioactive, bananas emit tiny amounts of radiation

Daughter has a degree in Physics. As part of her final practical exams, she had to compare and contrast the radiation levels in bananas from various parts of the world.

She discovered that Belizean bananas had dangerously high radiation levels, and informed her Professor immediately.

She had left the source material used to calibrate the readings in the radiation proof vessel! Still passed with a Desmond.

Apple seeds contain amygdalin, a compound that releases hydrogen cyanide when the seeds are crushed or chewed. However, accidental swallowing of a few whole seeds is typically harmless because the intact shell prevents the release of the compound.

Pride of Great Britain.
