What have you been doing today?

Absolutely awesome mate. What a fantastic job you have done. I would love to have that. Me and Lena have been looking at new ones but they are over priced. That looks equally as good as ones we have looked at 75k

The van wasn't a bargain but we were trying to avoid white if we could so bought that for £12k inc vat, 19 plate. Spent £8.5k on the fitting out. I reckon it would sell for 25-28k so a small profit. Maybe more if it were sold now in the nice weather but that's what I'd value it at.
Didn't want a shower room, I like having more space, and didn't want the next van length up because I do use that as my day to day transport.
Another £1k would have given us hot water but couldn't see the point without a shower.

That is a very conservative price you have put on it, I bet it would go for much more than that. Immaculate like that will add value too.

After weeks of not responding to my purchaser, my solicitor and my estate agent, the buyers lazy, useless solicitor now wants to exchange and complete on the sale of my mums house next Friday! We're away in Porto next Friday until Monday so I told them no. Waiting for them to get back with other dates. They’ve known all along the dates I said no to, even the estate agent is annoyed with them. I’ve still got a house full of her furniture to get rid of and if the buyer doesn’t want it (free and it’s all modern stuff, no crap) I’ve got to give it away elsewhere or junk it.
Heard from my solicitor when I got off the plane this morning and they exchanged today. Completing next Friday. Absolutely no trouble at all from the first-time buyers so we are leaving everything for them - sofa, lounge furniture, washing machine, fridge plus other bits 'n pieces. Sad to see it go and I’d rather have my mum but that’s life I suppose. We've all got to go someday…

Open top bus trip around Porto, gluten free lunch (Francesinha, salad and chips) in a gluten free restaurant that Mrs Mottie checked out before we came out here, boat trip up and down the Douro. Meal in the hotel tonight and then watch the football.

Going to the port museums tomorrow.

In Porto for a long weekend. 4.00 start. Knackered now. Bit of telly and then bed. Zzzzzzzzz
Loved Porto, done the bridge on foot over the top on foot over the bottom and both again by tram.
On the side opisit the port houses about half way down the bank there is a little football bar with amazing views of the bridge.

Iirc, you wouldn't eat the fish out of the Douro, as it is not far off an open sewer

Yep. Douro river fish would not be on my list of things to eat out here!

Been to Portugal 3 times. Lisbon twice (stopped there on a med cruise, got off and went straight into a Titanic exhibition!) and once to Madeira. Lisbon bit of a ****e hole with plenty of beggars. We were walking along that main river and saw a black mass ahead in the water which turned out to be hundreds if not thousands of fair size fish all gobbling up raw sewage being pumped directly into the river including sanitary towels, condoms and of course, turds. The locals were fishing nearby - I wondered if the fish were ending up in local restaurants. Yuk. Wouldn't go to Lisbon again but would go back to Madeira.

Walked a few greyhounds today, absolutely over the moon as they all seemed to fall in love with me. I think a greyhound or a whippet is on the cards for a new companion. I don't want to choose one I would prefer one to choose me so I am not having any expectations. I just want to give a dog a home that needs a second chance at life.
