Excellent idea,it’s worked for decades. There’d be little to no innovation in tv without the bbc. Just look at the digital channels to see what the private sector produces..Labour want people who don't watch or want the BBC to fund it.
BBC subscriptions (licence fee) have been falling in the last few years, because people no longer want to consume their services. The governments solution is to get you to pay anyway.
