Integrated LED ceiling lights - best to avoid?

I'm looking at putting up a couple of ceiling lights - circular, 35-50cm diameter, in a breakfast room. I like the look of the LED ones with a wooden surround, but I'm unsure whether I should go for the integrated LED ones (no builbs) or a more traditional 3 or 5 E27 bulb fitment.

The downside of the latter is you see the bulbs as light points when lit, whereas the integrated LED ones shows a uniform light, but I'm nervous of having the electrician fit something that I can't change the bulb in. The supplier says it has warranty, but..

What do you think - am I worrying over nothing?

With lights i prefer separate bulb

I prefer the light from the integrated fittings, ive got loads all round my house never had one fail, just buy 5 spares....the ones I use just plug in......the make escapes me I'll post it when I remember.

I have a couple of integrated, where my wife came home and said fit that. And the outside light, with the LED's in the top of the carriage lamp facing down, I have to admit it lights the entrance better than the one with a bulb, where the light goes up. But with the integrated one I need a socket adaptor to be able to switch it on/off from in my car, but the bulb one, simply fitted a smart bulb.

Be it an integrated or bulb, in theory they should last the same time. I have LED lights all around my house, and I have not had many failures, but failure rate is not zero, to change a bulb switch off at the wall, and pop in a new bulb, with integrated outside, down a set of steps, can be dangerous in snow or ice, and into the flat below the main house to turn off the power, then replace the integrated with a fitting using a bulb, then down again to turn power back on.

So I don't care if the integrated does give more lumens per watt, I want a bulb, the same with sockets, can get a smart socket, or standard socket with smart adaptor, I will go for the adaptor.

Even if the lamp does not fail, I want the option of fitting a bigger, smaller wattage, higher or lower colour temperature, and with multi-lights in one room, want them to match, having to buy 4 integrated lamps as one has failed, and I can't match it, is not the route I want to go down.

I know I could buy 5 when only using 4 so one spare, bet your life can't find it 2 years latter, or I have used it on something else.

A smart bulb £5, a smart adaptor and integrated lamp and the adaptor costs £10, so no saving.

My daughter had 3 of 8 intergrated fail within 6 months , design no longer made so had to replace all 8.

That's the problem, just had a smart socket adaptor controlling wife's bedroom fan stop working, so easy to just unplug it and plug in a replacement, if I had been using a hard-wired socket, it is so much extra work.

The other thing is as things improve, harder to use the new improved model. I have some with auto off timers, and I swap them around so where I want it.

Same with lights, in the main don't want to show a red light, but if I do, I can swap bulbs around.

I'm guessing youve brough high quality leds so they should last a long time. cheap ones will last a good while but the more expensive ones will last longer

How did people manage to live under those conditions for the 1st 100 years of electric lighting?

I haven't bought anything yet, but whilst there's not a consensus on here it sounds like bulbs are a safer option.

Oh I didn't notice that.

For clarification, what I meant was that there is an image of the three bulbs behind the translucent glass/plastic on the bulbs, but none with the integrated LED. I think the latter, therefore, is more effective. But on the bulb version it is actually glass not plastic.

I have no idea if this was an issue in the 1920s - I'm old, but not yet that old.
