Why would anyone want to go to a place they has no jobs.

Why not welcome pensioners with cheap housing that would free up money to spend businesses set up to serve pensioners.

It looks a nice place to retire.

I only know it from the Greenock blitz in ww2, a relative nursed there and said the injuries from molten sugar were worse than they saw from men returning injured from active service (the tate and lyle factory was hit).
 
Wasn’t Greenock the place JohnD commuted from "A hundred times a year" to London to visit "Friends and family" without being stopped by the police, unlike Black MP Dawn Butler?

Steam burns are evil due to latent heat, but molten sugar burns are far worse because the temperatures concerned are far higher and the viscosity of the product means it sticks to skin and cannot quickly and easily be removed or cooled.
