PATTRESS IN LOFT

I’d like to get a power socket in my loft space.
From a regs PoV, am I okay to have a pattress box mounted to woodwork.
Or does it have to be mounted to a non combustible surface ( like the gable end ) ?

I can just as easily use an ‘external’ type enclosure. The likes of a British General IP66 13A 2-Gang SP Weatherproof Outdoor Switched Socket WP22.

Not always, if your connecting to an existing circuit thats not Rcd protected, as in older ptoperties you can use an rcd socket or an rcd version of the BG socket you posted, though the new wiring must confom

Yes. I’ve replaced loads of broken units over the years - and never encountered a lot with a damp issue
