towel rad question

hi - does it matter if you put the rad valves at the top of the radiator instaed of the usual position on the bottom ?..im asking because i dont really want a long run of chrome pipe running down the wall....cheers

if you ever drain the radiator and refill it, how will you get the air out, the bleed will be at the bottom, i don`t think it would work.

Sorry,i entered my reply before seeing yours, i was only offering an opinion, there`s no need to get upset. How do you bleed the towel rail? Im asking to learn not to be smart. Thanks.

it has been done but can cause problems with air in the above pipework.
but i have seen them installed in bathrooms with pipework from loft down into bathroom.
but then their has been two bleed valves on the pipework above.
if you can't gain access above it can cause a problem.

thats my scenario mate...ive got pipework coming from the loft above the bathroom...i can easily gain access to the loft space...so shall i install two bleed walves on the bottom of the rad instaed of just one ?...cheers

fit these one on each side in the pipework in loft, one in flow one in return.

I`m a trainee plumber, my brother is a gas fitter & i sometimes go out on jobs with him, but he doesn`t have time to answer all my questions or he takes the mick, that`s why i`m here. Thanks.

but you do get people ask pointless questions and are about as thick as a 4 x 2 and you get them in the day let alone at night. and i can't be arsed with them.

Well, I`m not the sharpest tool in the box but I`m keen & getting on quite well, we may have got off on the wrong foot but be prepared for lots of questions in the future, Thanks
