trying to wire my landing switch have taken old plate off and have 2 red and 2 black wires- 2 coming from downstairs and 2 going up to the landing light....... how do i complete the circuit...help.diane.

Have you got 2-way switching, with the landing light also controlled by a switch downstairs? If so, what wires are in that switch?
yes, do I mirror that ?
It can - depends how it's been done.
Diane - were all of the wires in terminals in the old switch? Were any in the same terminal?
