nitrogen gas?

Neither is subjecting them to a painful death, regardless of their crimes.

We should do. I don't agree with the death penalty, but seeing as it exists, these deaths should be as humane as possible.

Would you still feel this way if a group of youths gang raped your daughter and poured acid over her entire body ?

Truthfully, yes.

That's not to say I would not show all the usual emotions victims & their families display.

Of course, we don't have Capital Punishment in the UK any more, but if we pretend for a moment we have, and that was my daughter, and the perpetrators of the crime were sentenced to death, I would still like to think I would strongly oppose it. For several reasons, the main two of which are below.

1. An eye for an eye does not right wrongs.

2. You would have to be absolutely certain beyond all reasonable doubt that you had the right person.

Look how many have been put to death in the US and subsequently have been proven innocent. Then there are those who are genuinely insane or otherwise not culpable. Add to that list the countless juveniles who have been executed and that is a strong case against the death penalty.

Well their are countless occasions where the "right" person is convicted and jailed of heinous crimes only to be released again and commit further henious crimes.

Perhaps we could have the person/s responsible for their release convicted instead.

People who commit horrible crimes should be locked up. And locked up for GOOD.
If the government cannot acheive this simple task then the death penalty should be re-instated IMO.
