Circular Saw Blade

Hi Guys

I have a question and I'm after a recommendation!

1. My circular saw doesn't have a riving knife, there's no mention of one in the manual. It's an Erbuaer. I've not had any problems with it, does it limit what I can do with the saw at all?

2. The current blade is 190mm, 24 tooth, 30mm bore, 2.6mm thick. I assume that's a ripping blade? I've put it through the metal bits of my workmate and some of the TCT teeth have popped off, the blade doesn't cut cleanly any more.

What would you recommend for a new blade? Thing is, 75% of what I do is crosscut. I use it to cut hardwood flooring, contiboard and ply mostly, occasional cutting of 2x4 and CLS. I was thinking of a combi blade, 40 tooth maybe?

Thanks

Ebay has a trend TREND CSB/19024 if I was to stick with 24 tooth. Are these decent blades?

Also, has anyone tried the Evolution blades that B+Q sell, supposed to cut pretty much anything?

Erbauer are rubbish.

I use the evolution blades but I think you are supposed to run them with an evolution saw (slower cutting speed).

The question was about blades Joe ;)

Trend blades are very good. If you are cutting lots of different types of material, then get a second blade, or a second saw. 40 would be good middle ground though.

Lack of a knife just means that there's more chance of the material binding on the blade. You can get metal clips that will do the same job when cutting sheet materials.

Thanks both, I can't really justify changing the saw though!

(and the erbuaer does a good job as far as I can tell)
