hi i`ve recently removed some floor tiles that were stuck to floorboard in my spare room. I`ve removed all the tiles but the adhesive has made the floorboards so sticky that it is virtually impossible to use a sander to smooth the floorboards for painting.

What i`m askin is does anyone know a way of removing this adhesive from the floorboards?

As always thanks to everyone for takin the time to help and reply.

i`ll give that a go but the adhesive used isnt visible to scrap off. The floor feels like someone has painted it with glue. You stick to it if you try and walk on it. So the sander paper just rips when you try to rub it.

Try a small area by using a little paint thinner and wiping with old rags, if it works continue. You might also if the floor is good just add a little baby powder to a small area and see what happens.

or alternatively you could fly to deep in the congo and find a witch doctor get him to dance a jig and maybe it will be all done when you get home ;)
