I am doing both my bathrooms at the mo and have another question for you guys please.

I have changed the direction of the door opening and so now the door opens onto the light pull which is a bit of a pain.

What would be the easiest way of dealing with this so i can switch on the light without walking around the door.

not wishing to sound funny, but move the switch. go into the loft and see how much slack there is and hope there is enough to move it to new position.

if there isnt 2 choices

new cable

crimp extra cable onto old switch cable

cut a large hole in the door

Can you provide a photo of the area?
that way people can make an informed reply.

well since you cant get at it from above you will have to get at it from below. Looks like you will have to either

put it in trunking

chase out the ceiling

see if you can "fish" from where it is to where you want it

You would need to leave something in place of the old switch to joint the cables. An architrave box and blank plate is fairly unobtrousive.

I'm not a fan of cables behind coving, but I think in this scenario, it will be the best soloution.
