I'm about to tile one course of largish (200x300mm) above worktop upstands in the kitchen.
The worktop, upstands and tiles are all gloss black granite effect.
Where upstands meet worktop I've used black mastic to seal the joint.
I will be using black edge strips to finish the upper and front edges of the tiles.(the upstands and tiles are returning from the back of worktop across the 600mm width)

My question is what is best way to deal with where tiles meet upstand?

Should I sit tiles right on top of upstand or space with tile spacers?

Should I grout (which will be white grout) the join, or just grout between tiles and black mastic where tiles meet upstand?

Mod 11, was the duplicated post in the same section or did the poster make another post in another forum section?

Mod: I posted from my mobile, which usually gives me no bother. However yesterday O2 was extracting the michael. The 2nd post was a 'nothing happened-retry', and the 3rd was the damn fone reposting the form from history instead of going back to the forum list.
Sorry chaps.

I have no pic, but I can get one monday nite (the job is at the my girlfriends house).

I was only asking because if the repeat post was made in the same forum section then it would have been a genuine mistake and the mod should have just deleted it and said nothing. If the thread was made in different forum sections then the mod is justified in quoting the rules at you. I would like to bet that it was the former though and that the mod was just being a smart ar$e.
