Why do I have to keep bleeding a radiator?

Hi - I've tried bleeding the radiator with the heating off and also using the inhibitor, but I'm still having to bleed the radiator every 3 or 4 days as it is cold in places (mainly down one side). Could any of the other things I mentioned be causing the problem. I'm lost! Thanks in advance.

Is it really that simple? *leaves room holding head in his hands*

Why do I have to keep bleeding a radiator?

Hi there I've just replaced an old radiator in the top floor bedroom in the house. I was having to bleed the old one every few days and it was quite old so I decided to buy a new double-convector style one. Now I'm finding that I have to bleed that every few days too - it's not cold all...

Cold room. Bigger radiator? Or just a more modern one?

Thanks for your input. After recalculating sizes, I think I'm going to need a higher output. I've found a brand called Biasi who do a 600mm x 1200mm - with an output of 8473 BTU. So I wont need to get a bigger sized one after all. Does anyone know if this is as powerful as they get...

Cold room. Bigger radiator? Or just a more modern one?

Evening folks. I need to get a new radiator for a bedroom as the one in there at the moment isn’t quite heating the room enough (as well as having to bleed it every two or so days). I was just looking for a bit of advice really. The radiator currently in there is a single (non-convector)...

Electric Radiator Question - Currently Using Easy-Heat Rad

Hello All. I bought and fitted an electric radiator from easy-heat (www.easy-heat.co.uk) about 2 years ago. It was quite an expensive solution (about £400) but we were limited by the fact that it was going into a conservatory with concrete floors and we wanted something that would look...

    Solar lights

Johnsmith falls off his chair, picks himself up and (bruised) starts typing on the keyboard again. Blimey that is expensive. I want solar because it'll be at the very bottom of my garden. I dont suppose you know of any half decent ones for a sensible price? I'm not looking to play...

    Solar lights

Breezer - do you still have details of that website that does 'good' solar lights? In my case, I don't mind how big the solar panel(s) is/are, because I'm going to put it on the roof of my shed (where no one will see them and where hopefully they'll get the most light), then run the cable...

Modulator (running CCTV) ruining my TV Signal - please help!

Dear all I'm hoping someone out there might be able to help me. I've done as much reading around as I can (as well as experiment with different set ups) and have not been able to find a solution on my own. Apologies if this comes across a bit novice-like. I've tried to explain it as best...

    Vented Integrated Tumble Dryer

Hi - I need to replace the White Knight fully integrated tumble dryer I currently own (vented to an external wall). I've had a look around and it appears that the only ones on the market are effectively re-badged version of the same machine (Baumatic do one, as do CDA). I wouldn't recommend...

Heating HOT upstairs, COLD downstairs. Thermostat solution?

Hello All. I have a problem which I suspect may affect a lot of us. Basically, I have my central heating thermostat (which deals with the radiators for the whole house) located in the hallway downstairs. However, the downstairs of my house tends to get much cooler than the upstairs. This...

    Newly laid patio looks messy.

Hello All I've recently re-landscaped my garden. Did much of it myself but paid for someone to lay a patio. It's all done now, but the mortar either side of each patio stone is very messy and slap-dash and I've had enough of ringing the landscaper to come and fix it. Basically, its...

Cable looks rubbish on external wall.

Thanks for the advice - you're both right, that looks like pretty mean cable for a diy-er. Also, the black cable I've already fitted (and lost the whole of my sunday to!) is now already there in all its glory. Do you know if it's possible to (and as I write this I am fully aware of how...
