    Multiple GFI relays

Thank you So would I, but infact neither are. someone has already got a belt off one of the metal light casings, cause was a loose wire. So we are having a good look at everything. I want to fit GFIs and quick, but think it will cause grief when it rains hard, maybe have to spread a lot...

    Multiple GFI relays

So I live in a village, in Thailand and there is a garden with fish ponds and lights. The supply to the Dist. Bd for the pumps and lights is three phases and a neutral, no earth. It’s three phase because in the past the load was much higher. In the Dist Bd the neutral bar is connected to the...

    price

Well I am a DIY’er and have just put a full CH system in my house. My RGI commissioned it. He was very kind and said it looked a 'professional job'..even had a magnaclean. I used copper throughout. Two bundles of 15mm and 9 lengths of 22mm. Yes it was a job feeding through the centre of...

    Osma overflow pipe compatibility.

I had that problem today..no shops open. It was on a vertical section though. I just sawed a connector along its length. slipped it over the osma and packd out the smaller section with some ptfe tape and then glued it all together. I then ended up with a parallel slot. Wrapped the whole joint...

Thanks Guys I am actually spending a lot of money here. I’m leaving this cold country soon and want everything ok before I go. Double glazing last financial year. New HE boiler, upgraded controls and bathroom this year. I am doing as much as I can myself but have an RGI for the corgi bit...

    Electrics in a rental property

I would like some info please prior to getting someone to carryout work. I am a landlord and the work is in my rental property. The property must be some 25-30 years old. It is two bedroom and there are two 5A lighting fuses in the fusebox. I will get these changed to MCBs Note that I had...

    Copper Pipe - Bending?

You can get a very reasonable pipe bender from Screwfix for £29 I bought one a couple of weeks ago and am having no problems with it. As above I have also used 45Deg elbows..where bends would have been more difficult to get exact...with the price of copper dont want to waste too much copper!

    Alpha CDR wiring

Thanks Tony..thats what I thought...I just wanted to see what others thought. I must admit that I expected you questioning my involvement. Well I'm doing everything except those bits I am not allowed to do. Flue and Gas I believe. He will check all my other work before he commissions The...

    Alpha CDR wiring

So we are on the last bit of installation…the wiring…its straight forward (or so I thought) Y-Plan. The boiler needs pump overrun. My installer said just run a five core down to the boiler and I'll check it all later. The 5-cores being L-N-E -swL and L for the pump overrun. I got the wiring...

    Pump head

I would have thought that the dynamic head would drop with increased flow..the average layman would anyway be unable to measure the dynamic head..guess you could get it from some sort of chart which showed the pump characteristics though. I didn't route any pipes around in the...

    Pump head

Thank you Chris. I didn't think that there would be any problem. I had thought of running the pipe around the rear of the cylinder and connecting as you suggest. But with all the other pipes around its not easy. I also wanted to make it easyish to cut the tank out if needed at some future...

    Pump head

Thanks Tony for your quick reply. Sorry that all is not clear As you are probably aware (from previous posts) I’m putting the whole CH system in, including the boiler and doing the bathroom at the same time (the bathroom works). My friendly CORGI man will commission the system etc and do the...

    Pump head

Interesting comments. So I cant get enough pump head. I have now installed the pump at the side of HW cylinder. Still am putting the relief v/v and 3-way v/v in the loft. I propose to put the relief v/v return upstream of where the HW cylinder return Ts in. I understand that it is...

    Pump head

Thank you for your swift reply Chris. Guess I'll give the pump as much head as I can. thats not very well phrased! I have bought pegler valves for the pump. Guess a bit of silicon on the glands would't do any harm.

    Pump head

Just a little advice please. Boiler in kitchen, two bedroom house. System now has full TRVs except room with stat. In the loft I want to put the pump, 3-way valve and bypass valve. The HW cylinder is directly below in a cupboard on the landing. So flow will be boiler..air seperator...
