Have you ever witnessed poor driving by a company vehicle with contact details on it (Or been able to find details for) and subsequently complained to said company?

I did so yesterday, a 5 ton recycling lorry, fully loaded (the kind of lorry made up of several mesh compartments where they sort the rubbish at the roadside). It was doing about 38-40 in a 30 area, tailgating, and shedding its load of paper. Sent them an email. Got a reply saying it'd be passed to management today.

Do companies generally keep a record of who has driven which vehicle and when?

I complained about a bus driver who pulled out of a junction in front of me when i was doing about 40mph. He never even looked in my direction, just pulled out - and he was picking children up on the way to school!! Got a reply back from the company saying they've spoken to him and he denied not looking and said that its a difficult junction to negotiate. Just glad he doesn't pick my kids up!!!

Funny enough, I was undercut on an island by a Balfour Beatty Workplace van today.

It was not a big issue, but I did notice that the van's "How is my driving number" had some grey duct tape over the last two/three numbers.

I would have let it go but then another one of their vans sped up out of nowhere and and cut me up, before they both began some sort of race. The second van also had duct tape on the phone number.

My phone is on the dash in a holder and in such a position so as to enable still or video images out of the windscreen.

So I sped up, took some pictures, which will be winging their way to the company (via the web address on the back of the vans), but I may be phoning them up first to inquire if they would be interested in some contract work, and if their work is as good as their driving

No, I was not racing, and was not representing a company.

Lol a Carrillion van was tailgating us last week, I slowes right down to 29.9 mph (30 zone) I could see his mate slagging us off midfingering me, (erm well gestulating) I slowed a little more, he roared past us his mate bad assing us, they were so made up looking at us, they only saw the GATSO light flash when it was toooo late.. wonder if it still registers if they were on wrong side of road?

I had a similar thing when visiting the next town, there is a dual carridgway with the notice posted saying, 'Police speed enforcement area'
There was a police van and policeman with a speed gun parked up near a roundabout, doing his job.
On my return down the same road opposite direction, some ten mins later, there was a white van trying to get into my boot.
I knew the camera man was there so I hogged the centre of my side of the dual carridgway to hold the van back.
much blowing of the horn.........from the van behind!!
I moved over and he roared past, passenger mouthing rude words as they went past..

Result!! Policeman with speed gun stepped out and waved van in, made my day!!!

A long time ago a lorry pulled out in front of me with one of those "Hows my driving?" stickers.
I rang the number and made my complaint.
Next thing, I'm being bombarded by info from an advanced driving course.....
"Cut your insurance premium and take our course - we need better safer drivers...." sort of thing.

So I reckon the stickers are supplied by the advanced driving course, and the phones are probably manned by them too. Makes more sense if you think there's a business behind it, making money. People don't do things for any other reason.
I mean, do you really think all these companies take our welfare, safety and traffic concerns seriously? Don't think so.
It's about money.

Didnt someone mention in another thread about a guy who had a premium rate number on his van and was probably driving the way he did to drum up more revenue from the number?

I saw a small van with a sticker on the back...

'How's my driving?, call 0800-F**K *FF you T**T!" and they didn't use asterisks...nice.

To all the sad no-marks who have phoned in complaints of poor driving;

GET A LIFE FFS!

I dont often agree with dangermouth.

But you all really need to get a life . sad people

And its safe concentrating on taking a photo as opposed to driving properly , i just dont think so.

Had one half wit try to take my number when i stopped on a single yellow to check a house number, i told him he better write it down fast.

Why is that he asked.

Eh cause im going to break your fekin arms replied i as he started to run.
