Here it comes, batten down the hatches......,

Last night we heard a loud bang and when we went to look, a tree had blown down. Could be much worse. The only damage to the house was one end of a gutter which had ripped off a small area of the fascia board behind.
We had a few days of rain and strong winds here a couple of weeks ago, went outside one morning and found this:

It doesn't look too bad from that angle, but the branch which landed across the hood did the most damage:

Just had the repair quote in - A shade over $2600! Fortunately it's not our tree, so it won't be our insurance paying for it.

It's a lease car my wife has through her work, due to go back in a couple of months. Not that we'll be sorry to see it go - I've driven it a few times and don't know why so many people seem to rave about them. Horrible thing to drive.
