Someone was asking me how they might go about putting an entirely flat side on ~10cm diameter stones/rocks so they sit flat on the ground without rocking. (Not really sure why - some project they're doing).

Anyhow, I'm not entirely sure what equipment they'd need. Presumably the stones/rocks would need to be clamped into some form of bench clamp so they're fixed and then either cut with a pull down saw of some description or some sort of fixed grinder which could be pulled onto each one in a fixed manner.

Anyone any ideas...?

I would probably just grind a flat surface by hand using a wide diamond disc in a 4" grinder, probably not the safest thing to do unless you have a lot of experience cutting stone with angle grinders. They're dangerous tools and you need to know what you're doing.
