the "ring main" is not 13Amp.
Why does the 12v transformer need a 13A fuse? I would have thought 3A would be more than enough. What is it rated at? Does it come with some sort of plug? What does the plug look like? (photo please)?
What sort of lights are these, that you want to supply from the socket circuit rather than the lighting circuit?

The fuse is not for the transformer which should be internally protected. It is to protect the cable.
OK, sloppy wording! One word was missing. I should have said "spurring of the 13 amp ring main (socket) using only a 13 amp switched FCU".
I am going to replace the 13 amp fuse with a 3 amp one, however, I will utilise a 13 amp switched FCU.
The led strip will be hard wired into the switched FCU via the 12v transformer.
I am spurring off the ring main because the led strip is for glass shelves on the wall and there is a convenient 13 amp socket close by.
I may also utilise a combined dimmer with ir remote, in order to dim the led strip.

Thanks for your suggestion. Generally a good idea and an extra socket would come in handy. However, I have 2 floating glass shelves stacked one above the other. I want to light them both up and don't want any trailing wires down the wall. It would be easier and cheaper just to plug the transformer with attached dimmer into the 13 amp socket, but unfortunately you would see the wires going to each shelf.
