My once yellow paving slabs periodically get covered in black muck which I have to clean with a Power washer which leaves black marks. Is it possible to paint them with anything and seal them possibly so that will last a little while?
Many thanks.

You can get a patio sealer which delays what you described above. It's a clear product which gives it a shiny finish

Many thanks for the information. I used a power washer which left some very hard to move black marks. I moved some using a wire brush with difficulty and I wonder if there are any colour stain that I could treat the whole patio to make it look fresher.

Is the black mark mould?

There is a product called Wet and Forget that kills it. Once dead it loses its grip.

Or is it oil stains?

Its not oil stains and I wonder how dangerous "Wet and Forget" is in that along the edges of the patio I have a number of bush type plants which I would hate to see killed. A friend suggested Jeys Fluid which I tried but it still needs a wire brush. I suspect that if I do manage to get rid of the stains or mould it will eventually come back so after I have got rid of the black marks I am considering looking for a colouring agent and covering it all with that hope that someone might be able to suggest one. Anyway, here is a picture of it.
