Strangely, it was never done with that in mind, but courier work comes into it!

Basically, I got really interested in wiring when I was still at Secondary. They had a fire alarm fitted in 1979 and I was the sad kid who followed them round and watched what they were doing. I got to strip some Pyro and put a pot on and bell it out.

The Summer I left school, completely by accident, I started jobbing with a guy who was a Building Contractor, but I ended up working with the sparks more than him. The 14th Ed. was still in force then.

I hadn't got myself on an apprenticeship scheme, so was persuaded by my Mum to do a Food Tech course, something else I was interested in.

After completing that, I worked in the food industry for 5 years, before starting an apprenticeship with day release at my local college. That was when I formally trained up on the 15th Ed. regs.

In 1991 I completed that and did my 16th., then spent a few years as an electrician's improver (old fashioned term!), then went self-employed. 10 years later I went to work for a large company (learning the 17th Ed!) and finished in 2013.

In between, at various stages, I drove delivery vehicles up to 7.5 ton and did multi-drop overnight deliveries around the UK.

A real mish-mash of stuff, but in the main I enjoyed it.

I think you’re missing the OP’s point, that the official line is that to destroy the covig-19 virus you have to have a hand gel containing alcohol, as alcohol is the only thing known to kill it. On that basis, and following the report that the virus first attacks the throat, then surely alcohol gargling would/might destroy it, thus preventing it getting into the body.

I suppose it’s as good as any ideas put forward by experts so far.

I suggested this a few days ago and was denounced as a dangerous lunatic!

I note Sweden seem to be adopting a 'herd immunity' policy and nobody seems overly concerned.

Cream first then Jam btw.

Swedes always seem to come across as being pretty laid back imo

Pubs restaurants etc are still open afaik

Don't think it is working too well at the moment for sweden, that curve heading in the same direction as the others

Belgium is not getting a mention either and it is as steep a trajectory as spain.
France - 1350 on Thursday!!! (i think they have started to include care homes, are we?)

guess we will have to leave it another fortnight to see if destroying our economy was worth it.

I wasn't being flippant about Sweden, just interesting that they have the same approach as Boris's early approach and aren't being denigrated.
Re destroying the economy, every country in the world is in the same boat, nobody will accept another ten years of austerity, especially in the EU, there has to be some sort of 'ground zero' where all debts are written off, the alternative is ……………..

one county closes a beach, the neighbouring county doesn't

Reminds me of Bournemouth, you could cycle along the beach path from Poole and have to dismount at Bournemouth, at Bournemouth they even had a section of beach designated as 'non smoking'.
