Less teaching? Where did you hallucinate that?

Perhaps you ought to get yourself educated.(y)
Not sure where you have been this last 18 moths but there has been a massive pandemic known as Covid - this has created a great deal of disruption within education resulting in pupils spending a lot less time being taught in the class room.

If the exam results are to be believed as comparable with previous years, then we do need to look at future education. Remote learning, schools closed, and many pupils taking extended time off to self isolate seems to have resulted in better education!

In 1983 when we were waiting for our house and workshop purchase to go through, I took a job as a supply teacher in a comprehensive school for about 6 months, mechanics of course - the original teacher was off after having a heart attack! I had to teach them to a syllabus for their GCSE's. When exam time came along, I was to mark them and an invigilator was supposed to come along to one of the exam sessions and mark them as well. My marks would then be compared against his and adjusted accordingly. For some reason he never came so my marks stood. There was a chart in the craft block teachers room showing the percentages of passes etc. My percentages were way above the other regular full time university educated teachers results. They didn’t half get the hump! They turned from being reasonably friendly to me and ended up practically ignoring me unless they were making snide remarks. Water off a ducks back to me though. I got a glowing reference from the headmaster when I left thanking me for staying on to ensure my students completed their exams and remarking how well they did. I photocopied it and pinned it on the notice board on the day I left.
The only bloke I really got on with in that school was George, the craft block assistant who surprised me with a leaving present - a personalised tool box for my diy tools when I got my house that he had made for me. They all looked down on him too. I kept in touch with him until he passed away some years later. 37 years and two houses on, I still have it as my overflow toolbox. :)

Less teaching?
You still have not said when you dreamed up this fantasy?
Yes, there has been less interaction between pupils and teachers since the start of the pandemic.

Is your argument that there has been no disruption to education since the start of Covid ?

Lies and utter nonsense. Seems you have tied yourself in knots.

only one thats in knots seems to be you.

it is well versed that there has been less teaching done by teachers this year due to the disruptions, the pupils have not learnt complete courses due to the various lockdowns, and schools having a varying response to the situation, some were very good, others were awful.

So by default less teaching has been done this year, yet the pupils have got better than ever results,...

so i see munroists point, however crude it may be but the facts remain the facts, pupils and teachers have done less teaching/learning this year than they have in pre-pandemic years.

my opinion is that the kids wont have been failed by a great margin, and anything they have missed can be caught up in the next years of their lives, majority of kids dont use what they learn in school in real life college and uni is far more focused and generally tends to lead what they do career wise and is more likely to be used in real life

Less learning has been done, that's for sure. A significant chunk of our lot are mentally upset by it in one way or another. Kids have lost half a year or so, most will not catch up, they'll get left behind. I can only see it leading to a high proportion of kids flunking out.
