This Will Not Work For The Patient

I picked up my mum the other day from hospital in Hull after having a valve replacement on her heart. I was completely disgusted with the state the NHS was in. People laid in the corridor on our way out on beds and everyone walking past them, they were obviously very sick people in need of care. I wouldn't want to have this sort of care and would gladly pay to be treat correctly and with dignity.
You’ve spent your life voting for privatisation and wealth inequality…..you are seeing the results of those.

Those left wing countries like France, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Spain……all have far better health services.and yes Bismarck models can exist in social democracies

Just saying what I saw and what I think is the solution, I would be willing to pay either private medical insurance or put the NHS on a scheme to pay for it more than government funding. Drs demanding higher wages is starving money from the other NHS services offered.

God forbid you get something that's not covered, and requires extended treatment, stays, aftercare, major operations.
Then I use the NHS, a service I've always paid for with my taxes but seldom used.
Who told you that if one has private insurance can't use the NHS???
I don't know.

Were they NHS doctors doing private work?

Were they using NHS equipment?
It does not matter one little bit.
If the doctor was NHS he would be paid by my insurance.
If the equipment was from the NHS, the insurance would pay a hire fee.
Come one leftist, this is the third time you avoid answering.
Did I save money to the NHS?
It's a simple question with a very simple answer that you refuse to give because it would go against your leftist ideas.
They have already been massively cut….the result is that these people end up in A&E
Where did I say anything different from this?
Are you in the right thread???
Those left wing countries like France, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Spain……all have far better health services
Clearly you haven't been there.
I have used healthcare in France and Spain (and Italy) and they are way worse than our NHS.
Maybe I've always been lucky, but apart from long wait at a&e and an ass of a physiotherapist, I always found the NHS very good.

Same experience, I have experienced healthcare in these countries, their ambulances are like our AA breakdown trucks.

Pay to have everybody treated correctly and with dignity, or just you and your Mum?

I wouldnt pay for everybody no. Correct I would just pay for me and my mum. You may pay for others which I am sure that you wouldn't but then you are just being silly now.

I can see how you would think that, if you believe that they are worth less than Amazon warehouse workers, and that it is right that they should be 15-20% worse off than they were in 2010.

On a general note, how does an insurance-based scheme make it cheaper?

Staff still have to be paid the same.

Equipment costs the same.

Drugs and other consumables cost the same.

Premises cost the same.

Only now there's a profit margin to the insurers to pay, plus more NHS admin costs for dealing with all the claims.

I believe they are paid enough now, they do a great job and deserve more but the reality is that the NHS cannot afford to pay them more without reducing other services.

You misunderstood my reply.
You said that you cost the NHS little to nothing.

Presuming you were born in Italy or a private hospital here, and were covered by insurance for your entire life until now, I'd agree.

But the tab is not settled until you're gone, and not costing the NHS anything is as much a case of luck as anything else.

I'm not looking to argue with you BTW.
