Felt lined gulley in valley/butterfly roof

I have a valley/butterfly roof with a felt lined central gutter (pictured below). The gutter relies on a bitumen mastic seal between the felt and the lowest tiles. Pretty predictably, this keeps failing. In heavy rain, water rises above the level of the first tile and water ingresses into the...

    Restricted access felt roof condensation

Old felt roof has corrugated metal overlay so sealed all round. Condensation forming on underside drips on old felt which leaks a bit. I need to gain access through holes either end and spray loads of pour-on (very liquid) sealer so it floods the surface and hopefully finds the cracks. So I need...

Hi, I've just roofed my attached garage with onduline (bitmumen corrugated sheets) but one of the nails bent half way and created a hole about 10 mm across. Do I repair this the same way I would felt, with some mastic and maybe repair tape? Cheers! Carl

Fix hole and crack in ceramic sink

My son accidentally dropped a glass into our sink bowl and now there is a hole and a crack running 3-4” away from the hole (the crack is barely visible in the photo but can be felt by running a finger along the length of the crack). What is the best way of fixing this such that a fix would last...

    Putting on shed felt

I was trying to lay some felt on this old shed by myself but it runs a bit out if line. The over hang is a bit lower at one end. Shall I just nail the underside to hide that? In trying to adjust its position I've left a few holes in the over hang as well as I pull it away from the nails...

    damaged roofting felt beneath tiles

I'm responsible for selling a deceased estate property and having looked in the loft, there are holes in the roofing felt. Also, where the felt has been overlapped along the length of the roll edges, theres a gap of max 2" where it seems to have shrunk back. The property is a 1930's semi and has...

    Damaged roof felt

I am thinking of adding a loft conversion to my 1950s bungalow. On inspecting the roof, the tiles appear to be in good condition but the old original underfelt has repairs all over it. There are no leaks which I can see. I understand that holes in the felt are not all bad as they can supply...

    Hole in felt in loft...

No, rain should not be getting through the tiles. You have a damaged tile/ridge tile/lead somewhere(above and in line with the hole in the felt) on the roof. Repairing the hole in the felt is not the answer.
